Rey Spyder and Saec Money are gearing up for their new five-song EP, “Foot On Their Neck,” arriving October 31, 2026. Ahead of the release, Rap Olympus Media caught up with the duo to discuss their creative chemistry, artistic direction, and what listeners can expect. Let’s get right into it!
You both maintained a consistent release schedule this year. What motivated you to stay so active creatively?
Saec Money: Falling back in love with creating music is the main reason I’ve stayed consistent. I can also thank Rey Spyder for keeping me working; he’s a workhorse. If you’re around him, you have no choice but to keep up.
Rey Spyder: Working with Saec Money has always been easy. We’ve had great chemistry since day one. I stay motivated, and I’ve seen that same motivation from him, so I’m constantly sending him tons of beats. Some stick and some don’t, but what’s crazy is that we’ve never actually been in the same room when we write. Somehow, everything still comes together naturally and blends seamlessly.
How did the idea for “Foot On Their Neck” originally come together? Did it happen on the fly, or was it previously discussed?
Rey Spyder: I initially came up with the concept for “Foot on Their Neck” and ran it by Saec, as I do with all my ideas. He was instantly on board, so we got to work and made it happen. The title represents the pressure, determination, and consistency we’ve been demonstrating.

The EP is only five songs, but it covers a lot of ground. Was keeping the project short and direct done intentionally?
Saec Money: It was definitely intentional. In today’s world, everyone mainly consumes short-form content. We both felt the days of having a million songs on an album were a thing of the past. We wanted a short, heavy-hitting project that would engage the listener without boring them onto the next popular release. We nailed that with this project.

What does “Life Is Beautiful” mean to each of you personally, and did creating that record change the way you looked at anything in your own lives?
Saec Money: To me, “Life Is Beautiful” means remaining strong-minded and disciplined while overcoming life’s obstacles. We both come from environments that often keep people trapped in the same mindset over a lifetime. Yet, we’ve both conquered those circumstances and exceeded the expectations typically placed on us. It proves that no matter how difficult the road may be or how many struggles you face along the way, your circumstances don’t have to determine where you end up. If you work hard, stay consistent, and keep pushing forward, you can rise above whatever challenges come your way.
Rey Spyder: On “Life Is Beautiful,” I have a bar where I say, “Grew up with some roaches and a couple hammers, always did some dirt when I slept over Grandma’s.” My grandmother struggled with alcoholism, and her house was infested. I spent a lot of time there when my mom went clubbing and was left with minimal supervision, structure, or discipline. That environment had a major impact on me. Without those boundaries, I developed a lack of respect for authority and ultimately became rebellious.

To be honest, I sometimes lose sight of life and just how far I’ve come. I get caught up in the daily grind and forget to appreciate everything I’ve been blessed to build. “Life Is Beautiful” gave me a chance to reflect on my upbringing and the life I’ve created for myself and my family.
Do you think listeners sometimes overlook the more vulnerable or reflective side of artists because they’re accustomed to hearing the tougher side of them?
Rey Spyder: I do my best to balance what people hear and what they see. Rey Spyder (the artist) is completely different from Rey Ruiz (the person). To understand me, you would have to know me personally. Rey Spyder (the artist) is an asshole, while Rey Ruiz (the person) is a man of respect, unless otherwise provoked. What people see online is the artist. At shows, people connect with both sides. That personal connection is where I make new fans and build genuine relationships.
What do you hope listeners take away from the EP after hearing all five songs from beginning to end?
Saec Money: I hope listeners recognize the project’s versatility and appreciate how much time, effort, and dedication have gone into bringing it to this point. This marks our fourth release of the year, in addition to several solo projects we’ve dropped along the way. I want the hard work and dedication to resonate with those tuning in. I’m a humble cat who does his numbers, but I also want the listener to know we are two dope artists who are NICE WITH THIS RAP SHIT, and we will outrap the best of them. Don’t believe it? Make sure to check out “Foot on their Necks” this Halloween for the proof!
