Hailing from Dutchess County, Declan the Celebrity grew up immersed in music and creativity. With a father who is a vocalist/guitarist in a rock band and a mother active in the entertainment world during the ‘90s, it was only natural that he’d find his own path in the arts. Surrounded by instruments and performances from an early age, Declan’s connection to music runs deep, laying the groundwork for the artist he is today.
EARLY INSPIRATION
Declan’s influences bridge eras and genres. In hip-hop, he draws from Earl Sweatshirt, Roc Marciano, A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, and legends like Mobb Deep, Big L, and the Wu-Tang Clan. On the production side, he looks to Madlib, The Alchemist, Nicholas Craven, Grimm Doza, and V Don for inspiration. His musical palette reaches far beyond hip-hop, stretching into rock, reggae, and soul. He grew up on classics from The Beatles, The Doors, and The Clash, and even penned close to forty verses inspired by The Scientist’s High Priest of Dub.

Viewing his creative process as a direct channel to his mind, a space where thoughts, emotions, and imagination collide, Declan the Celebrity strives to make music that paints vivid pictures, often exploring the strange and unconventional. He believes the “weirdos” are underrepresented in hip-hop, and he’s determined to give them a voice.
From detailing the chilling world of organ trafficking on “ZEPHYR,” surviving off the land and feasting on wild game in the jungles of South America on “BUSHMEAT,” or confronting spirits in the eerie hills of Appalachia on “THE APPALACHIAN SONG,” Declan consistently pushes his creativity into uncharted territory while crafting new listening experiences for the culture.
