In the community, a barbershop serves as a gathering place where conversations flow freely, opinions are exchanged, and no subject is off-limits. From sports and movies to pop and hip-hop culture, there’s always a discussion waiting to happen. Michigan creative Eric Barber understands the significance of that environment, and he’s bringing the same spirit to his upcoming debut project, “Barbershop,” arriving November 13th.
The title plays off Eric’s last name, but it also represents the variety of interests and ideologies that make him unique. Rather than conforming to what listeners might expect from a traditional hip-hop album, Eric embraces his individuality, giving him the freedom to explore different sounds, subjects, and creative directions.

The 12-song project comes with an ambitious visual component: 12 accompanying music videos, each with its own identity. There’s claymation, LEGO stop motion, paper animation, a campy horror movie, and more. Rather than relying on one visual formula, Eric Barber allows each song to come to life in its own way. This addition makes the album more than just an audio experience and gives listeners another reason to explore the project.

The guest list is equally diverse, featuring Bizarre of D12, Dizzy Wright, Guilty Simpson, Gmac Cash, Mickey Diamond, and others. With such a wide range of personalities involved, “Barbershop” offers something for listeners with different tastes and perspectives. Set a reminder for November 13th and don’t miss the exclusive Bandcamp release of “Barbershop.” For more music-related news and more on Eric Barber, click the links below.
