With the release of his powerful new visual for “I Remember When” featuring IAM3AM, Eastside Crazy Deez continues to prove why he’s one of East Side Chicago’s most authentic voices. The first official single from his forthcoming album “STFU” finds Deez reflecting on life’s hardships, personal growth, and the determination required to rise above adversity. Rap Olympus Media recently caught up with the artist to discuss the new video, his creative process, and what fans can expect moving forward.
“I Remember When” feels incredibly personal and introspective. Was there a specific moment or experience that sparked the creation of this record?
Life inspired this one. Everybody sees where you’re at today, but they don’t always know what it took to get there. I wanted to make a record that reflected the struggles, the setbacks, the losses, and even the small victories that helped shape me into who I am. This song is really about appreciating the journey and never forgetting where you came from.

The chemistry between you and IAM3AM is undeniable on this record. How did the collaboration come about?
I’ve always respected IAM3AM as an artist. We both bring authenticity to our music, so the collaboration happened naturally. Once he heard the concept, he understood exactly where I was coming from and added his own perspective. It wasn’t forced at all. It felt like two artists telling different chapters of the same story.
What was the experience like collaborating with director Vino Tarantino on the video?
Vino Tarantino is one of those directors who understands how to tell a story visually. He doesn’t just point a camera and shoot. He pays attention to details and emotion. We talked a lot about making sure the visuals matched the song’s message. I think he captured that perfectly and brought the whole vision to life.
The song is the first official single from “STFU.” What can fans expect from the upcoming album?
Fans can expect honesty. “STFU” will be one of my most complete projects. There are records for the streets, records for people going through real-life situations, and records that show growth. I wanted this project to represent different stages of my life and everything I’ve experienced along the way. It’s definitely some of my strongest work yet.
You’ve built a reputation for staying true to your roots while continuing to evolve. How do you balance those two things?
You have to remember who you are at all times. Growth doesn’t mean changing who you are. It means becoming a better version of yourself. I still represent East Side Chicago every day, but I’m also learning, growing, and elevating as a man and an artist. The music reflects that balance.

Is there a particular message or feeling you hope resonates with listeners when they hear “I Remember When?”
I want people to know that their situation today doesn’t have to be their situation tomorrow. Everybody faces obstacles. Everybody goes through hard times. The key is staying focused, staying consistent, and believing in yourself when nobody else does. If this song motivates even one person to keep pushing forward, then I did my job.
With “I Remember When,” Eastside Crazy Deez delivers more than just another single; he delivers a reminder that perseverance, faith, and determination can turn life’s toughest chapters into success stories. As anticipation continues to build for the release of “STFU” later this summer, one thing remains clear: East Side Chicago’s own is only getting started.
