Abeatchemist is cracking open the archives and giving Hip-Hop something special. With “Proficient Pens (Chicago),” the veteran producer turns two decades’ worth of unreleased tracks and preserved studio sessions into a full-length display of Chicago talent. The result is a curated time capsule that highlights the emcees who helped shape his creative journey while reaffirming his own mastery behind the boards.
From day one, the mission was clear: shine a light on Chicago’s underground scene while showcasing his vast production expertise. True to that purpose, the album brings together a standout lineup of collaborators, including Jaefkae, Hiram Baker, Lil Bogus, Pro Wondah, bR, and Soul Survivas, a duo comprised of Abeatchemist and Nipsee Guzzle.

What makes “Proficient Pens (Chicago)” hit even harder is its intent. These aren’t newly manufactured records; they’re moments captured over twenty years of grinding, experimenting, and building relationships. By finally releasing them, Abeatchemist gives fans an inside look at his musical resume, revealing the range and texture that have shaped his identity as a producer.
Before the year wraps, Abeatchemist plans on dropping “Open Vaults 3” on December 19th. The instrumental project is the final chapter in the series, a closer for longtime supporters who’ve followed the journey from the beginning. As the new year begins, his only scheduled release, “Free Will,” is set to arrive on January 19th. Once that drops, Abeatchemist is shifting gears and opening the door for new collaborations with artists ready to make a statement in 2026.
