Emerging from Rochester, New Hampshire, Domination J is a name to watch in the independent hip-hop landscape. The emcee began his musical journey at just 16 years old, drawing inspiration from the golden era of 90s hip-hop. Legends like The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Big L, and Big Pun shaped his style and passion for the art form.
But Domination J’s path hasn’t been without challenges. While incarcerated in the Department of Youth Services, he found his life at a critical crossroads. With encouragement from acquaintances who saw his potential, he turned his talent for rhyming into a creative outlet, using music as a form of self-expression.
With three albums available on all major streaming platforms, Domination J continues to build. “4 the Culture,” his next full-length project, is set to drop in early 2025. If you’re new to his work, now is the perfect time to get acquainted with the New Hampshire emcee.
On December 6th, he’s set to open for The Lox at the State Theater in Portland, Maine. You can also catch Domination J performing on November 29th at Raff Theruler’s Birthday/Album Release Party at the Noir Lounge in Providence, Rhode Island.
