How long have you been creating music, and what inspired you to get started?
I’ve been crafting music since 2019, but my journey began much earlier, around six years old. My mom, auntie, uncle, and cousins were all involved in music, and they made it a constant presence in my life.
My musical inspirations stem from deep personal connections. My cousin Quack, who left us in October 2014, ignited my passion. My older brother Shvd of Grim Life, who departed in October 2022, helped fuel my drive even further. Tragically, my younger brother BossedupEazyMoneyEj, who passed in September 2020, left an indelible mark on my musical path and reminded me life is short.
How would you describe your musical sound?
My sound is a departure from the norm. While it may take some time for certain people to catch on, some will immediately connect with the underlying message. It’s a sound that has been absent from the rap scene for quite some time.
Tell us about the project you would like to shine a light on.
In my forthcoming project, “How Zoo Talk,” I’m incorporating everything I’ve learned up until this point. It’ll highlight my identity, what and who is Zoo Land, and the fallen angels I’ve lost. With a total of 11 tracks, there might be a single feature artist, but aside from that, the spotlight remains solely on me.
If you had to pick one song from your catalog to make a strong impression, which would it be?
I don’t just have one song; in all honesty, I have several. “I’m The 1,” “Chin Up,” and “Another Realm” stand out as strong contenders.
What are your plans for the remainder of 2024?
My plans for the remainder of 2024 involve ramping up visual production, booking my first show, and increasing collaboration efforts. Though I intended to release more videos, time constraints hindered any progress. I have unreleased tracks featuring EBK Lil Play, Bossed Up Yayo, and EBK Lil Ree, so I plan on dropping new heat every chance I get.
