Greg Jackson, more commonly known as Illa Ghee, is a Brooklyn lyricist with an extensive resume. Since ’93, the Mobb Deep affiliate has been tending to the over-saturated landscape of the hip-hop culture. Sticking to his roots, Illa stems from an era where lyrics matter the most. A time where you wouldn’t dare plant your feet behind a mic without a proven track record first.
His latest release, Fried Apple Juice, is a 10-song manifesto to the streets. A soundtrack to the gritty city blocks where shadows lurk around every corner. A place where the bodega is open 24 hours and the grill is always cooking. Now available on Bandcamp, click the link below to listen and download Fried Apple Juice today.
Set to drop later in the year, Vocabulary Hercules will be the next addition to his already vast music collection of beautiful vulgarity. With very little known about the project, I think it’s safe to say it’ll live up to its given name.
