SketchTurner is a beatmaker, producer, and artist based in Rochester, Minnesota, with a decade of hands-on creativity under his belt. At just 18 years old, he copped his first MPC and dove headfirst into the world of sampling, pulling textures from classic films, dusty jazz records, and vintage funk gems.

His musical foundation is rooted in the DNA of hip-hop’s most pivotal eras, drawing heavy inspiration from De La Soul, Grandmaster Flash, A Tribe Called Quest, MF DOOM (RIP), and Public Enemy. At the same time, he channels the boundary-pushing energy of modern innovators like JPEGMAFIA, Tyler, the Creator, and Jonwayne, merging old-school grit with contemporary experimentation.

What sets him apart is the cinematic feel woven into his production. SketchTurner’s free-flowing approach keeps every beat unpredictable, and he’s never hesitant to break routine. Whether experimenting with new textures or pulling from different genres, he constantly finds fresh ways to evolve his sound.

SketchTurner is teaming up with Pittsburgh rapper King Adroit for a new collaborative project titled “2 Jive Turkeys,” set to release in January 2026. With SketchTurner handling the full production load, the album promises a soundscape built on gritty funk flips and soulful cuts drawn from 1960s and 1970s cinema. Inspired by films like Super Fly and Coffy, the project taps into that raw, analog grit while pushing both artists into a fresh creative zone.

2 Jive Turkeys” will feature appearances from Guilty Simpson, along with a few surprise guests who add even more depth to the record. For those looking to get an early glimpse of the vibe, SketchTurner and King Adroit recently dropped the self-titled single on all digital streaming platforms, offering a sample of the groove-heavy direction they’re heading in.

Looking to capitalize on his creative momentum, SketchTurner is keeping the pressure on with a packed release schedule. In the next few weeks, he’s dropping a new project with fellow Consigliere Records member Ant Kelly, followed by a solo beat album titled “Some Wack Shit…” arriving on 12/24. He’s also gearing up for another collaborative release with AU, “All Doggs Go To Heaven Vol. 2,” set to land in January, further proving that his output isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
