From Huntington, West Virginia, comes a voice that’s anything but subtle. FAWKEM—formerly known as Steel Jaw Moe—has officially stepped into the spotlight with his debut project “ROBIN ILL-IAMS,” released under Consigliere Records.
Though FAWKEM has only been recording for the past two years, his relationship with hip-hop stretches back much further. Writing rhymes was always a source of enjoyment, a way to sharpen his pen and express raw thoughts without boundaries. It wasn’t until close associates encouraged him to take recording seriously that FAWKEM finally hit the booth. What started as a casual creative outlet quickly grew into something more.
His turning point came after attending several 4th Rope events, moments that introduced him to the underground’s energy and community. Discovering the rap group Griselda only further cemented his dedication, showing him the power of authenticity, persistence, and uncompromising sound.

The 13-song project, “ROBIN ILL-IAMS,” is a play off the late actor Robin Williams, but instead of comedic expression, FAWKEM delivers unpredictable rawness. His sound leans into a gritty boom-bap aesthetic, sharpened by a bullpen of producers including Ant Kelly, Camoflauge Monk, DJ Krooked, McBain, Jack2on, Tetsuo, and Eric Frm Salem. Together, they provide a diverse soundscape that feels handcrafted for FAWKEM’s unapologetic pen.
What makes the project stand out is its character. It’s not glossy, pristine, or polished. Instead, it highlights its imperfections while giving listeners a glimpse into FAWKEM’s unfiltered artistry. “ROBIN ILL-IAMS” is now available as a Bandcamp exclusive. Tap in today for a listen!
